Switching from Yasmin to a low?

I have been on yasmine for the last 8 months and my new doctor wants me to switch to a lower dose pill (.02 mg ethinyl estradiol) but not Yaz. I'm overseas so its the same dosage just 21 pills like Yasmin. Does it matter that theyre from 3 different companies if theyre all the same dosage? And what have been peoples experiences switching from Yasmin to a low dose pill? I'm a little worried. Just FYI I go home next week so I could get Yaz, its just seems silly to spend so much on a pill. I'm spending $61 on Yasmin now :(
