Confederate flag in the yearbook?

So, we got our yearbooks. In them are two pictures of a guy with the confederate flag. We are a northern town in Michigan, so this doesn't just resemble pride or rebelism like in the south, but also racism suspicions. Also, yes, there are Black kids that go to our school, but they are a definante minority. How would you feel looking through this yearbook? Do you feel our yearbook commitee has the right to do this? Is this racist or just meant to symbolize something stupid?
