Why would a women paint themselves orange in fake tan?

thats what i was thinking, it looks horrible. all the girls at college wear it, i dont see the point in it myself its a waste of money, and it opens up all your pores on your face and you get all spotty, id rather get a good tan in summer not to dark just golden brown, and that lasts all year, it looks better :)
