I am a NuvaRing user, I followed the directions on when to insert it but...?

I only got my period for one day. Is that normal? I tried calling the NuvaRing hotline but i was too late to speak to someone. According to the directions the day you start the your period you are supposed to begin the new ring. I bled enough for one day, then i was done. ***I DID take a pregnancy test and it was definaltly NEGATIVE.*** Let me know what you think Please Thank you :D
